Tell us about your journey to Groupon and what is your role?

I’ve just celebrated 13 years at Groupon! The majority of my time here has been focused on Talent Acquisition within North America. I have supported hiring for Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, Operations and more.

What does a typical day look like?

My day is peppered with phone interviews, it is typically easier to get ahold of me by email because I am jumping from call to call. Outside of any meetings, I do admin work following up with candidates, scheduling interviews, and communicating with hiring managers to round out my day.

Can you give us a sneak peek into some exciting projects you are working on?

Right now I am part of the top priority hiring project of bringing on new sales talent in the United States. We recently regionalized our efforts which has reinvigorated our hiring teams and needs in specific territories. 

Groupon is going through a unique transformation. What's the most exciting aspect of it?

It is all hands on deck and every action you are making in your role has an impact on the outcome for team goals and company expectations.

What has been your proudest moment so far at Groupon? Have you won any awards?

I won the Groupon Green Award for Respect, Integrity, and Inclusion in 2022.

What do your parents think you do?

Luckily since I’ve been doing it so long my parents know I look at resumes and talk to people on the phone all day long. They have to experience it when I am home for the holidays and getting some work done.

What’s your favourite Groupon memory? 

When I was still based in Chicago, we used to have a summer party called “All You Can Street Fest”. It was a half day, we played games, had great food and drink, and employee bands would perform.

What was your first job?

Pool Deck Attendant at a waterpark called Mystic Waters.

What is one non-work activity or hobby that you're into? 

Reading! I average about a book a week if not more.

If you could have dinner with any historical figure, who would it be and why?

Robin Williams, he was kind and creative and I think he had a beautiful approach to the human experience of connection.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be and why?

A chef! I love to cook and it would be interesting to try, have support in the kitchen and work with the best ingredients.
